What The Visitor Center Never Told Me About In Paris

I stuck a lot of tourist sites in the four days we stayed in Paris but had a smart place I was missing as travel agents never spoke to me - probably because they did not know anything about this unique option.
And this is to take a boat trip from Paris at night and see the breathtaking beauty of the 35 bridges that cross the Seine. However, I had a wonderful view of the bridges of Paris at night at home, when I bought it and returned through the pages of "The Glow of Paris: The Bridges of Paris by Night" Gary Zuercher.
After the exposure of a shot by accident, he discovered the Zuercher beauty flowing on the lights bridges over the dark background of Paris at night. After this discovery, he spent the next five years rolling 35 bridges from Paris, from midnight until 2-3 am when there was little traffic and few pedestrians to interfere with their work. The results are absolutely incredible.
But Zuercher is looking for more the history of the bridges and offering a fascinating account of each bridge, some of which were crossed by Julius Caesar. I learned that they used to build houses and shops on the bridges of the Middle Ages. Another bridge is used to host a festival with acrobats, fire and musicians, including "pulling their teeth." Another bridge had a change of position money at one end and another was struck by a plane Fighting, killing four pilots of the French Air Force. Absolutely fascinating things.
Over a period of five years, Zuercher took their cameras in the night in Paris to capture images surprisingly evocative of the bridges spanning the Seine. Thanks to its sophisticated photographic artistic and technical eye, created these glorious black and white, rich in details and with clear and luminous quality.
No one else has photographed this way, all the bridges over the Seine in Paris. We do not see crowds of people or heavy traffic. Nothing masks the beauty and strength of the structures, the romance and the symbolism of the bridges. Shooting in black and white allows details to shine: architectural elements, works of art, neighboring buildings, trees on the banks of rivers and star-studded lamps that throw paths of light through the water.
He divides his time between the houses in Paris and Washington, DC with his wife Dominique who is French.
I am the book just to post on my coffee table but I started reading it and could not put it down. Much of the information on the goo bridge and the history of Paris that is much, much more than a cocktail table book. I highly recommend this book, but do not put it in the living room to show, but read and enjoy each page.
