Do you think that these are the best solutions for your problem?

Are We Reactive or Proactive?

I'm a big fan of thrillers and mysteries of murder - I love the "whodunits" when invariably the good ones win in the end. It does not seem to be important to know how much they are submerged, well, it always prevails.
Suddenly, I found that in most, if not all, these scenarios - the bad guys are proactive and the good ones are reactive.
I have to think about how it relates to everyday life and how we deal with our affairs and our lives.
Food
I was brought up in a time when things were much simpler - meals were cooked from scratch and the organic was not an option - the vegetables were just vegetables and were chosen only according to taste preferences .
Now we have entire movements of people who are spending their time and energy on GMOs, cruel agricultural practices and the like, to come back to a time when we did not have to wonder if our food compromised our health or not. In some parts of the world, fresh fruits and vegetables are not an option - only processed chemically loaded foods are available with sugary drinks. Even if organic fruits and vegetables are available, the price is often prohibitive for the poorest members of society. Fruits and vegetables treated with junk food and pesticides are the only viable option, with the health problems it entails.
Environment
We had radiators and fireplaces where we burned wood and charcoal. There was no central heating, fewer cars and items like ovens, refrigerators and washing machines were built to last for several years. Mobile devices and computers were not even dreamed of. I remember there was a telephone in the lobby and the conversations were brief.
Now we have whole movements of people who devote their time and energy to trying to save the planet that is threatened by deforestation, fracking, chemtrails, ocean pollution - not to mention the potential extinction of animal species , lifestyles and whole populations Living more primitive. It is to nourish our need for greater and better "things" - often fueled by desire and not needing.
Only 30 years ago when I was introduced to my first computer at work. Since then, it is as if the world had gone mad: progress has arrived so fast that the planet itself can not sustain itself and is systematically destroyed.
Home
When I was a kid, if we had chickenpox, measles or a cold, we went to the doctor, gave us medicine and kept him in bed until we were better. Sometimes parties were organized so that the children of the neighborhood could catch everything needed to make it turn and finish. We had vaccines against diseases like polio and used to receive injections of cholera, tuberculosis and typhoid fever because it traveled to countries where they were needed.
We now have whole movements of people who dedicate their time and energies to difficult pharmaceutical and chemical companies and ask them questions related to "health benefits".
Today, babies are born and are immediately subjected to a cocktail of chemicals that is injected. I saw something the other day that said giving a vaccine to a newborn would amount to giving 180 adult pounds 30 vaccinations in one day. What is worrying is that there are clearly more sick children with life-threatening illnesses than in my childhood. There are also many other sick adults with diseases that, to my knowledge, were never heard when I was a child. So where is progress?
My minds
I am not at all opposed to progress; we must continue to grow as a human race. However, when progress is impregnated with greed and lack of compassion, is this really progress? Is not it more like a regression with more beautiful toys? I believe that in many respects, with the exception of materials, the world has retreated alarmingly.
It seems to me that many organizations were designed primarily to save the planet, were these societies born, or even thought, 40 years ago? You are spending so much energy trying to undo the damage that has been done, that progress is slowing - we are in a world where it is a step forward, two steps back.
