Business Book Looks at How Companies Can Improve Themselves

Fixing what works by John FE Dullea and Alvaro Espinosa combines entertainment and information for readers looking to improve their businesses, receive valuable information, and learn what to do in an attractive size and deep .
Written as a tool novel, the story takes the reader through the process of a dedicated employee, Mike Preston, develops and is used face a new position in your company, Sanders Electronics, the new business unit director IOT .

Mike is a dedicated employee and kind he wants to do what's best for the company, but it faces several obstacles in their attempt to improve profitability. These obstacles include: unhappy customers, colleagues who feel threatened by him and not want to cooperate with their requests for assistance, employees who want to help but can not because their leaders are uncooperative organization, poor planning and equipment often malfunction of plant and destroys the profit, the poor morale employees, and the financial analysis does not report the information Mike is whether the company is actually profits.
All these issues Mike manages to work through, and as it does, the reader learns how to turn around a company and overcome obstacles to create teamwork and a product of the desirable society. The advantage of the book to be a tool novel is that the reader gets to see the characters / employees as real people and understand their relationships with others and how these relationships also affect the company.

For example, Mike comes out with Kathy, who works in human resources, so it is very willing to help. Other employees are there just to collect a paycheck or have egos, however, some also have views of the company or have their own dreams to climb in the company can help achieve. One of my favorite characters in the story was Erica, an intelligent young man who works nights at the factory so that you can take care of his mother disabled during the day.

When Erica speak at a meeting, Mike is impressed by her and soon she was promoted. Another character, Andy, Mike begins as the greatest opponent, but as the book progresses, the two learn to work together, respect the opinions and expertise of each and literally "bury the hatchet."
It never hurts to include a little romance that develops between Mike and Kathy as the book goes. It does not hurt to create real people with lives outside of the office, so we see Mike and Kathy go out on dates, Mike play golf with friends, and Mike find a stranger in the golf clubhouse ends it is important for him to make much needed changes in Sanders Electronics resources.

These scenes add flavor and entertaining book, but more importantly, they also show the value of networking, everyone speaks Mike outside the workplace gives you ideas or help you in some way, which also shows how to be open to receive ideas and information can lead to success.
Dullea and Espinosa authors wrote an important story to illustrate how to take good company with excellent, but also include all the hardcore information you expect from a fiction book of business.

We are shown graphs and statistics Mike and his team are working with, and after the story itself, the authors devote a half-dozen chapters to the discussion of concepts and methods discussed in the book.

These issues include the chapters being a leader, accept change, the importance of valuing people as its most important resource, becoming a reaper, selecting the right tools, and building a roadmap for the success.

The reaper discussion is the key because Espinosa and Dullea are the golden owners Reaper Consulting. Set a reaper someone like his character Mike. "The Reaper is a mercenary focused on specific areas of a business with the sole purpose to understand why it is the way it is and how to change for the financial benefit of the company "in recent chapters, but they provide more graphics and tools to explain concepts and help readers become reapers in their own organizations.
