T Is for Technology in Triathlon Training

The original triathletes were incredible. Dave Scott and Mark Allen have achieved incredible triathlon feats long before technology took over. They did not have parameters like the ones we have today and certainly did not have all the information gathering capabilities we have. However, they set records and competed valiantly. In fact, Mark Allen still has the marathon record in Kona to date. Technology is a good friend for triathletes, but it has a disadvantage.
TECHNOLOGICAL ARTICLES
Technology has therefore taken over all parts of the triathlon. One of the most studied areas is the Triathlon Monitoring Zone. Every year, there are new watches available for purchase that have increasing measures for the triathlete. My favorite is the Garmin 910XT. This watch gives me heart rate, power (with a wattmeter), rhythm (with optional pedometer), speed, cadence (with optional cadence sensor), mileage, swimming lessons and more. Each of these measures helps me measure my successes or failures in each training and career session.
Technology has made great progress in bicycles and axles. The amount of research on these two objects in the world of triathlon is incredible. Every year, there are new advances in aerodynamic speed in bicycles and axles. Most of the time, these technologies can take two very different points of view. This was most evident at the 2016 World Championships in Kona. Diamond Bikes introduced its Andean bicycle that fills the entire space between the front tire and the rear tire with a solid piece to get the wind through the area for aerodynamics. Another motorcycle debuted in Kona this year with the opposite idea. The Ventum bicycle removed the diagonal tube from the bicycle and made a gap between the front wheel and the rear wheel with only the upper tube remaining. These are two very different ideas about aerodynamics. This is one of the incredible things about the advancement of technology and also one of the disadvantages.
All triathlon teams are experiencing constant technological advances. Shoes, coveralls, socks, nutrition, hats, sunglasses, helmets, racing kits and everything you can imagine. This world of triathlon technology is not nearing completion and will continue to exceed limits.
INVERSION OF TECHNOLOGY
Triathlon technology is amazing. These new articles are exciting and make each year different. There are new developments that help triathletes go faster and longer. These new technologies help even the amateur triathlete go faster. Only buying new wheels can make the difference between going up and down the podium. The advancement of shoes has helped many athletes avoid injuries that affect many people, such as plantar fasciitis. Technology will continue to help the sport become better and better.
MALIGNO OF TECHNOLOGY
The disadvantage of technology is that the amateur triathlete arrives at his local career and is unable to win because another person has the money to buy some of the latest technology. Larger purchases such as wheel sets and bicycles can be prohibitive for the average triathlete, yet there are people who buy these items at alarming prices. The amateur triathlete may also feel overwhelmed by what to buy and not buy. Some technological elements are not worth the extra cost because they do not significantly reduce the career time for what they cost. Now that these new technologies have disappeared for some time, imitations have begun to make objects cheaply. It will be interesting to see the avalanche of these imitations on the market and see how this affects the big of the technology.
If you are a triathlon buyer, you should shop smart and do not buy new gadgets just because they are new. Make sure to invest in items that will do it faster and not just a gadget.
